Here's me escaping the San Diego flood
...last month when the building my office on K Street flooded out with almost three feet of runoff from the storm.
FLASH FLOOD ACTION! This short video (if it is in fact the correct clip -- I haven't checked yet and just now successfully got it uploaded here [something I wasn't able to do last month for some reason as it was downloaded from my email and not taken by my phone]) so we'll see. It was shot by the daughter of the super nice neighbors near the K Street Kreative Komplex where I rent. They lived in a house on a high enough foundation so it sat above the flood. Anyways, long story short: that's me, laughingly emerging from the chest-deep water and asking if I can enter their yard to stand on their dry(ish) porch and wait out the flood. They graciously welcomed me into their house and also cleaned and dressed my foot wound. What an experience a flash flood is! I've lived in San Diego all my life and we NEVER get this sort of weather event. In other news, I'm glad the upload from hard drive function worked itself out on Substack. Last I was able to record from my phone and post directly to my profile here but ran into an error message when trying to upload a clip I'd downloaded from text or email like this one sent to me by the girl.
